Water Line Reroute for a Leak-Free Home in Loxley, Al
Project Highlight: Water Line Reroute for a Leak-Free Home in Loxley, Al
At 5 Starr Plumbing, we understand how stressful plumbing issues can be- especially when they involve leaks in water lines embedded in a concrete slab. Recently, we completed a comprehensive water line rerouting project that not only resolved our customer’s issue but also enhanced the durability of their plumbing system.
The Challenge: A Leaking Water Line in the Slab
Our customer reached out after discovering a persistent leak in their water line, which was located within the concrete slab foundation. Slab leaks can lead to costly repairs and damage if left unaddressed, so we promptly assessed the situation and proposed a reliable solution: rerouting the water line through the attic.
Our Solution: Rerouting Through the Attic
To minimize disruption and ensure long-term reliability, our team executed a meticulous plan:
1. Locating the Water Line:
Using advanced tools, we identified the exact location of the water line running from one manifold to the other within the slab.
2. Disconnecting the Problem Line:
We safely disconnected and capped the existing water line embedded in the slab to prevent further leakage or complications.
3. Installing the New Water Line:
o A durable, high-quality water line was routed through the attic space.
o The line was strategically dropped down to the second manifold, ensuring a seamless connection.
o Careful insulation was applied to protect the line from temperature fluctuations.
4. Connection and Testing:
Once the new line was installed and connected to both manifolds, we turned on the water supply and conducted a thorough pressure test. Every joint and connection was inspected to confirm there were no leaks.
The Outcome: Leak-Free
Budget: 2,000
